Today I did a podcast you can find the link on Also, ran for 1 hour and started strength training segment which is about 5 exercises at 95% of max rm (about 5 reps each). Tommorow is a light work day so plan on swimming and cycling. By the way my personal training link is

Tip for the day- have a purpose with weight training, do not bodybuild! You should start the season w/ 8 weeks of anatomical adaptation. Try to train in a circuit at about 30% of your max and hit every major muscle group to gain back general strength and balance in oppossing muscle groups.

Back to training

Yeah! I got to workout today. I ran 1 hour nice and easy, my 40 yr old joints felt a little stiff for the first 15 minutes but towards the end of the run I felt pretty good. One component that I should have worked on during the forced rest was flexibility. Tomorrow I will bike about 2.5 hours then back to the grind on Monday.

Disneyland, Harder than an IM?

Sinus problems are gon and now I'm taking a week off, which is a super hard thing for me to do. We went to disneyland over the weekend w/ our 2 year old son. It was tougher on the feet than any IM I have completed. I was worried about my son because it was his first flight but he did fine it was me that "blew" it. On the decent I decided that if I had our son sip on some milk it would help w/ the pressure in his ears, well I go to open the "sippy cup" bottle that has a plastic straw and milk spurts out onto the ceiling, hits the stewardess, people behind us, myself and my wife. Oh well I guess I learned something about atmospheric pressure. Next week training will resume and I will post workouts on my build towards IM Canada.
