Getting Stronger

Turned 43 over the weekend and I feel as though I'm starting to become "bullet proof". Put in a great 3 hour run and negative split the 2nd half after taking in a little hammer gel and my trusty e21. I actually cruised away from people w/ a 136 HR. So all in all things are coming together even after a weekend of "gluttany"

I'm Back !!!

Sorry been away for a while. Training has been going well although I had a little bump w/ a sinous infection then a cough that wouldn't quit. I'm on my second round of antibiotics but it hasn't slowed me down! Had a descent 3 days; Friday rode 60 miles, Sat. Ran 2:30, and Sun rode 4:38 of hills!!! I've been taking along the E21 Recovery product and it seems to keep my cramping at bay along with a little surge it seems.

Today is the Super Bowl and I will have my first drink since Jan. 1. I think 1 beer may put me over the top. I better stick to 1 or clothes may start to fall off and my wife banned all nudity @ parties after we got married!

Anyway feeling like Kona is definitely in the cards again!! And I'm proud of all my athletes that keep plugging away.

Feeling Awesome/ Skin Cancer

I know kind of a weird title. But the truth of the matter is I'm feeling awesome, I'm trying a new product called recovery e21 and so far it has made me feel incredible. More to come.... I also found out this week that I have a basal cell cancer on my shoulder which I will have removed on the 20th. Am I freaked out? No, I was more worried that it was going to take away from my training.
I'm so looking forward to the season! I see the Kona return starting to shape up!!!!

Week in Review

What a week! I have had some decent training and all of my clients have been kicking some serious "booty"

I feel really blessed to be able to do what I'm doing sonsidering the horrible year I had last year closing the business and all.

We all have a lot to be thankful for!

And congrats to Deano on qualifying for kona at Arizona!!!

Training Week

Had a descent week of training the totals were; 5900m of swimming, 8 Hours cycling, and 5:21 of running. Did some speedwork in some Saucony flats that are a little to small and I have been battling some shin pain since.
On another note my mom had some surgery this week related to her multiple myaloma. She is tough as nails and is at home recovering. My mom never complains so I'm not going to complain about a little shin pain. Next week is an easy bike week, trying no to do too much too soon. Wildflower is not until May. Still highly motivated at this point, although I did eat some of my son's fries this weekend. I was celebrating his b-day!!Oh well we are not all perfect, also a little too much wine and beer!

Been a while

Didn't post in a while. I'm thinking about a name for the team that I coach and kind of like O2 Debt. I have a great group of people training for 1/2 to full Ironman this coming 2011.

This year I'm commited to trying to get back to Kona after discovering that I can cruise a 10:23 @ IM Canada this past August. I've already started to dial in my nutrition which I have never really attempted to do in earnest in the past.

My wife kind of called me out and said if you are going to do this "stuff" can we at least go back to Hawaii!

Um......no pressure!

Podcast

Today I did a podcast you can find the link on http://www.pacificfit.net/. Also, ran for 1 hour and started strength training segment which is about 5 exercises at 95% of max rm (about 5 reps each). Tommorow is a light work day so plan on swimming and cycling. By the way my personal training link is http://www.ftroseville.com/

Tip for the day- have a purpose with weight training, do not bodybuild! You should start the season w/ 8 weeks of anatomical adaptation. Try to train in a circuit at about 30% of your max and hit every major muscle group to gain back general strength and balance in oppossing muscle groups.
